Where do stitches come from? Why do they move the way they do? How do you make reversible patterns? These questions and more are exactly what we'll try to answer with our 2014 Yarn-A-Long. Each month we'll release a recipe for a block of stitches inspired by some of our favorite stitch dictionaries. We'll meet every Wednesday from 6pm-8pm, but you can also join us during our Sunday Social or on our Ravelry forum. Before you know it you'll have twelve blocks of fascinating swatches ready to be joined for an heirloom blanket. There is a blocking party calling our names somewhere in December, but until then join us for an exciting adventure through the history of knits, purls and chains.
What you'll need:
=> about 2400 of worsted or 2800 yds of dk weight yarn (we are aiming for each block to take about 160 yds of worsted or 180 yds of dk weight yarn)
=> needles or hook to obtain desired gauge
=> stitch markers, cable holders, a nice sipping beverage :)
A perfect blend of washable wool and cotton...smooth, soft, durable in colors that will brighten up your life! You will need about 1 skein of Sweater per block and we recommend you get total 15 to leave room for edging or re-do's.
